As it was brand new, i didn't test it first. It oozed a sticky merengue torte all over the oven and was a big mess to clean. After cleaning, I tried the glass bottom with water, and the aluminum bottom with water, and they both leaked badly. I carefully checked to make sure I had the pans sealed correctly. This is definitely a very bad default with this pan. I do not advise buying it, pampered chef springform pan. I bought this pan after hosting a pamper chef party. I used this pan once and it leaked horribly.
